From: Marshall Kelly
Dear Fellow Shop Owner

…Then I invite you to keep reading!
Because on the following page, I’m going to lead you through a process of business automation strategies that will allow you to WORK LESS (save anywhere from 8 to 20 hours per week)…
…And Make MORE MONEY this year (from $5,000 to $100,000) or more depending on your particular business and situation) than ever before.*
I’m not only going to show you…
How our customers far exceeded their expectations in automating their Automotive Repair business using these strategies and tools….
…and case studies of REAL PEOPLE who made an awesome difference both in Dollars, Time and reduced frustration using these techniques…
You might be amazed to learn that – right now — I have customers all around the
World that are using these tools to “Enable” their business to grow while being educated and trained with very little effort.
But first, before we get into all that, lets talk about why your income, today, is a fraction of what it Could be…
From a Shop Owners perspective I can predict why your income today is less than it could be…
(Hint: You’re working in your business not on it!!)
Not too long ago, I completed my annual survey of my customers and subscribers… (I highly recommend that you do this once a year too!)
And as part of this survey, I asked the important question, “What is the biggest challenge you’re facing with your automotive repair business?)
The answer I got loud and clear, after reviewing thousands of replies, was “Management”
A whopping 76% of the people I surveyed told me these Four Management chores are wasting anywhere from 10 to 25+ hours of their time ever week (OR not getting done at all because they’re “too hard “):
Chore # 1: Handling Office Management Paper work!
Over 25% of people surveyed told me that preparing invoices, estimates was their biggest challenge — they didn’t know where to start!
Chore # 2: Tracking Customers, Vehicles and their history!
Over 23% told me that looking up past invoices to find out what work had been done in the past was a huge time issue. -- Their biggest daily chore.
Chore # 3: Scheduling customers and vehicles in a timely manner!
15% told me that the task to manage and track the customers and their vehicles + the “Phone” time was eating up many more hours each day.
Chore # 4 Using the available Information to handle customer service issues smoothly and efficiently!
11% told me that making sure the “Numbers “ were correct with good
reports was frustrating and difficult to manage.
Clearly, there is a problem here:
While 70-80% of people now view automotive software as a cost effective
and more profitable way to automate their businesses (choosing not to
Automate is cheaper) or is it...
…and while most shop owners no longer fear technology like they did a few years ago—because most people now understand the concept of “Shop Automation” It is time to come into the computer age.
…Very few people are really profiting from the business tools that are there for them to really optimize their bottom line.
Like my survey showed, most people get caught in the vicious cycle of doing the same repetitive management chores, over and over again.
Are you getting the results you really want?
There is an old saying: If you keep doing what you’ve always done, you will get what you always got. If you’re like most Automotive shop owners I speak with, you may already be caught up in this income-killing cycle.
Here’s how the story usually goes:
You start a business with good intentions, preparing to put in a little “elbow grease” in the early days so you can bank more profits.
You handle every invoice yourself, to guarantee that Hands on touch, manually calculating every figure, making sure you charge the right price, and more…
But then (unexpectedly) your success begins to snowball faster than you planned – and you find yourself working 2...4...6 hours a day, just doing invoice and estimates and scheduling the work in the door.
It all happens so quickly, your plans to automate are set aside (how will you find time? And your ideas for other things like marketing aren’t getting done either.
What’s happened???
Despite good intentions, you’ve found yourself in the very common trap of “Doing Business”, unable to focus on running and growing it.
Your income and profits begin to level off (maybe your income even DROPS a bit) and you’re disappointed to find this automotive repair business – which was supposed to give you more free time –- has turned into a frustrating experience.
How our customers beat this problem to make thousand’s of Dollars with Automotive Management Strategies…
…And how 100s of regular business owners have followed my lead to increase their bottom line by $5000.00… to $10,000… per year or more:
Clearly, the best way to avoid limiting your income and growth is to automate your shop management early in the development of your business.
Last year, our customers were able to increase their bottom line by 10 to 50% with shop management because they used a powerful tool called “Shop Controller Management Software” to automate many of these time-consuming chores.
And I can show you tons of examples of “regular business owners” who are now making an awesome difference in their annual revenue right now using Shop management strategies because they were smart and automated their management chores using ShopController early in their businesses, too!
The 5 Key Automation Stratagies You Need to Catapult Your Income
To an $$ Awesome $$ Level!!*
Of Course, “automation” is a scary word for most people.
What, exactly, does it mean to automate? Will you need to hire consultants? What aspects of your business need to be automated first? Will it be expensive?
If you’ve never done it before, automating your business can seem an overwhelming job. Heck, if you search “business automation” in Google, you get over 135 million results – when you know where to start, that is!
Fortunately, automating your management chores is Easier than most people realize –when you know where to start, that is!
Over the last 14 years, my experience with automotive businesses has proven there are really just five key management automation strategies that you need to focus on.
Yes, just FIVE! Here’s what they are…
Automation Strategy # 1
“Computerize your business with the best computers that you can afford… …You will not be sorry you did!”
Did you know that the biggest challenge that management software technical support have is “challenged computers” with not enough memory and hard drive space. Also make sure it has plenty of USB ports for a flash drive for backups.
Automation Strategy # 2
“Spend the time and effort to put all of your customers
and their vehicles in the software before you get started…
…and don’t forget to read the documentation!”
Remember, “Organizing is what you do before you do something, so that when you do it, it is not all mixed up.” Planning the labor tables and inventory is going to make your Invoicing, estimating and scheduling a real pleasure.
Automation Strategy # 3
Send a professionally designed newsletter to your customers each month... ...also send out reminders for service work needed for maximum profits!
With Shopcontroller, sending out newsletters and Service needed reminders by printing labels and tracking services suddenly becomes MUCH easier.

Handpick your best customers to receive special offers...
... This is an EXTREMELY powerful -- yet very easy -- way to increase your sales (As much as 40% (or more)!*
Automation Strategy #4
Use the new “Live Meeting” to experience a new level of Customer support!
...Avoid the frustration of support not understanding your problems. There is help available that is really “Hands On”! We just say SHOW ME.
Shopcontroller support has taken the customer service experience to a new level with a customer interface that lets us connect with a one on one connection.
...There is nothing like working with someone when they can show you just exactly what they are experiencing. The word “Communication” takes on a whole new meaning.
Just imagine the past and what it was like to have someone support you with no visual look into your world!
Automation Strategy #5
Make sure your bookkeeping optimizes your business with an awesome accounting solution!
Shopcontroller has the latest QuickBooks interface that works with version 2007. It still contains the tools to work with versions older than 2005 but the newer updates are a good choice.
A good percentage of our customers use the reports produced in our software for their bookkeeping needs, and then give the reports to their accountant. The most important rule for good numbers tracking is to put all of the data into the software every day and follow good daily backup habits!
*** Bonus Strategy # 6 ***
If there is a strategy that is considered the biggest it would be the called “Saving Your Tush Strategy”
(Backing Up Your Data)
It still amazes me how many software users do not make the act of backing up a number one priority. With the newer technology of USB and the flash drives of today it is so easy to not only backup but to take it home with you.
I can’t emphasize enough the need to first, put the application and the daily backup on the same flash drive. If something drastic happens at your business you can always get another computer, install the application-add the data file and you are back in business. How awesome would that be if you needed it.
We pay hundreds of dollars in insurance for our business but do not think of one of the most important effects that having no current backup would mean!!
We had a customer recently that was a month behind in their backups when the system crashed, I was afraid to ask how much it cost them with the re-entering of the invoices for a complete month. Please Backup Daily!!
QUICK TIP…
The Secret to saving more time while creating more revenue is the art of using The Service Utility.
(Formerly called Canned Jobs)
ShopController has a utility that has a Smoothing out effect on your business. After the labor tables and inventory parts have been put in the software, this utility puts the service writer on over drive…
Just add parts and labor into the utility, The Services show up in the invoice entry screen as a dropdown list. You then select the Service that you need and with one click you have brought all of the parts and labor into the invoice.
That was so easy, maybe three seconds!!
Can you Imagine creating an invoice for an oil change including parts in three seconds, ok maybe five…
